Check a triathlon off your bucket list

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) A competition that’s on many athlete’s bucket list is a triathlon. But if you don’t think you’re up for it, you need to know about the Millennium Triathlon!

The Millennium Triathlon takes place at Millennium Park in Walker on August 2. It’s designed for beginners, with different distances to suit every athlete. The event combines swimming, bicycling, and running around the picturesque park. There is even a kids’ triathlon on August 1.

You can still sign up until Packet Pickup on Friday, August 1, before the kids’ triathlon kicks off. For more information, check out the Millennium Triathlon website.

Millennium Triathlon

Sprint Distance
Swim: 500 meters
Bike: 14.8 miles
Run: 5K

Olympic Distance
Swim: 1500 meters
Bike: 27 miles
Run: 10K

Kids (ages 7-10)
Swim: 100 meters
Bike: 2 miles
Run: 1 mile

Kids (ages 11-14)
Swim: 200 meters
Bike: 5 miles
Run: 2 miles
