IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say they have arrested the two men responsible for a series of home invasions in northwest Ionia County.

The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police Ionia Detachment formed a task force to investigate the burglaries, which occurred over the last several weeks, according to a Monday release.

They developed two suspects, both men from Belding. They said the pair burgled homes and then sold stolen items at Grand Rapids pawn shops.

Investigators watched the suspects and saw them selling stolen property at a pawn shop. Shop owners then showed authorities the items, which included computers, video gaming systems, power tools, jewelry and more.

The pair was pulled over in Grand Rapids Monday, and more stolen property and drugs were found in their car, investigators say.

The suspects was arrested and taken to the Kent County jail. They are expected to face home invasion charges out of Ionia County.

Their names are being withheld pending arraignment.
