Giving history new life at renovated church

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A historic church in Grand Rapids’ Heritage Hill neighborhood has been transformed into living spaces. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Prospect and Crescent was recently renovated into 22 residential units, with the help of 616 Development and DeGraaf Interiors.

DeGraaf took great care to respect the nature of the building and incorporate what was already there, like huge stained glass windows and ornate wooden arches. Some of the structure had to be created, such as the hallway leading to each residence. It was a unique challenge, to blend the old with the new and incorporate modern design to make it a comfortable place to live.

DeGraaf Interiors has contributed to a lot of unique projects in West Michigan… and they also work with individual homeowners. They are offering a deal through Saturday, August 2. If you stop by any of their locations, you can get 50% off material on all in-stock short carpet rolls and remnants. You can also get 50% off some of their in-stock hardwoods, vinyl, and laminate.  All you have to do is mention that they saw the deal on eightWest!

DeGraaf Interiors has three locations: their premium discount outlet on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids, a showroom on East Paris Avenue in the Cascade area, and a showroom on 28th Avenue in Hudsonville. You can find more information on their website.
