Help man’s best friend at Pups & Putts

LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (WOOD) We love to tell you about all of the amazing animals at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary who need a new home. Mackenzie’s is the largest no-kill dog sanctuary in the Midwest, and taking care of all of the dogs there is a lot of work and money!

Mackenzie’s relies on the support of the community, through donations and fundraisers. The 6th annual Pups & Putts Golf Outing is an event on Monday, August 4, to help raise money for Mackenzie’s. It will be held at Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids. A shotgun start is at 9 a.m. with a scramble format, followed by lunch and an awards ceremony. A single golfer costs $85. A foursome is $300. You can register online by Thursday, July 31 on the Mackenzie’s website.

The adoption process at Mackenzie’s Animal Santuary is easy. They set up three visits, including a visit to your home to make sure it’s a good match. The adoption fee is $150 and they help place dogs within 150 miles of Lake Odessa.

Interact with Mackenzie’s and give your pooch a front row spot on their Facebook page! Mackenzie’s looks for a “cover dog” each month. Just send a season-appropriate photo of your dog and they will pick one to be their cover photo for the entire month!
