Woman stabbed in the leg during attempted robbery

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A woman is recovering after being stabbed in the leg during an attempted robbery Tuesday.

The woman was driving on North Avenue near Leonard around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when a man jumped into her car and stabbed her in the leg, according to police.

The suspect attempted to rob the woman, but fled the scene empty handed.

The woman was able to drive herself to the hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police have not located the suspect.
