Former winners on display for ArtPrize 2014

"Elephants" by Adonna Khare, the ArtPrize 2012 winner, and "Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore" by Ann Loveless, the ArtPrize 2013 winner.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — ArtPrize organizers announced Wednesday they will display two of the previous grand prize winners’ work during ArtPrize 2014.

Both pieces, “Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore” by Ann Loveless and “Elephants” by Adonna Khare, will be displayed at the ArtPrize Hub from September 24 to October 12, 2014, according to an ArtPrize release.

Loveless won ArtPrize in 2013. Her landscape quilt captures the Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore on Lake Michigan at sunset.

Khare’s drawing “Elephants,” which took the top prize in 2012’s competition, shows wildlife and wild animals. Khare added to the drawing during each day of the competition, leading up to the finale.

In 2013, ArtPrize attracted more than 400,000 active participants and entries from more than 50 countries, the release said.
