Get cooking with the Meijer LPGA Classic

ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) When you combine cooking and golf, you’re bound to have a great time! That’s the idea behind the Meijer LPGA Classic’s Celebrity Chef Cookoff event!

The cookoff is part of a week of events surrounding the Meijer LPGA Classic. It takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Celebrity chefs Cat Cora, Carla Hall, and Gail Simmons will be preparing three different courses for participants to sample. Participants then get to vote for their favorite. That score will combine with a vote from a panel of judges to determine who wins the cookoff! Tickets are $100, with proceeds benefiting local food pantries through Simply Give. You can purchase them online.

The Meijer LPGA Classic runs from August 4 through 10 at Blythefield Country Club in Rockford. Tickets range from $15 to $50. Children 17 and under are free with a ticketed adult. You can get passes online or at the gate. Parking is at Fifth Third Ballpark with shuttle service to the golf course.

If you want to see all of the behind the scenes action, you can volunteer! They need everyone from golf course positions to transportation, and everything in between!

You can find information on the Meijer LPGA Classic, how to volunteer, tickets, events, and more on their website.
