Visiting the Meijer LPGA Classic


BELMONT, Mich. (WOOD) — For the first time in 14 years, the LPGA is back in town.

The inaugural Meijer Classic has taken over Blythefield Country Club in Belmont as some of the best women golfers on the planet prepare for this week’s tournament.

Here’s a list of what you can expect regarding the schedule, ticket Information, directions and parking, per the Meijer LPGA Classic website.
 
Schedule

Monday, Aug. 4

  • Professional practice begins at Blythefield Country Club. This will be closed to the public.

Tuesday, Aug. 5

  • Professional practice. This will be open to public, but times and pairings have not yet been determined.
  • 9 a.m.: Meijer LPGA Ladies Day at Blythefield Country Club

Wednesday, Aug. 6

  • Official Pro-Am. Morning tee times: 7 a.m to 9:10 a.m. Afternoon tee times: 12 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Meijer LPGA Jr. Clinic at Boulder Creek Golf Course

Thursday, Aug. 7

  • First round of Meijer LPGA Clasic begins at Blythefield Country Club. Tee times: 7 a.m.

Friday, Aug. 8

  • Championship play continues with the second round of Meijer LPGA. Tee times: 7 a.m.
  • 6:30 p.m. – Meijer LPGA Classic Celebrity Chef Cookoff at Grand Rapids Public Museum.

Saturday, Aug. 9

  • Championship play continues with the third round of Meijer LPGA Classic. Tee times: 7:50 a.m.
    6 p.m. – Meijer LPGA Classic Community Concert featuring Gary Allan and Big & Rich at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Sunday, Aug. 10

  • Championship play completes in the final round of Meijer LPGA Classic. Tee times: 7:50 a.m.

Tickets

There are three different kinds of tickets available to get close to the week-long action at Blythefield Country Club: A $15 daily pass; a $35 week-long pass good Tuesday through Sunday; or a $50 Upgraded ticket that offers premium stadium-type seating on the 17th green, as well as discounted food and drinks.

Tickets are available at a number of local Meijer stores.

Parking

All general spectators are being asked to park at Fifth Third Ballpark from Tuesday until play finishes on Sunday. A $5 parking fee will go to Rockford Athletics.

A shuttle bus will transport fans from the ballpark to Blythefield Country Club from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Directions to parking at Fifth Third Ballpark

From Kalamazoo:

  • Take I-94W to US-131N for approximately 3 miles.
  • Take US-131N approximately 66 miles to exit 91.
  • Take exit 91 for West River Drive.
  • Go straight through the light to arrive at Fifth Third Ballpark.

From Lansing:

  • Take I-96W for approximately 63 miles to exit 31B.
  • Merge on to US-131N for approximately 5 miles.
  • Take exit 91 for West River Drive.
  • Go straight through the light to arrive at Fifth Third Ballpark.

From Traverse City:

  • Take M-113E for approximately 9 miles to US-131N.
  • Turn right onto US-131S for approximately 109 miles.
  • Take exit 91 for West River Drive.
  • Turn left onto West River Drive NE for approximately 0.5 miles.
  • Turn right into Fifth Third Ballpark.

From Holland:

  • Take I-196E approximately 4 miles to US-131N.
  • Take US-131N for approximately 21 miles.
  • Take exit 91 for West River Drive.
  • Go straight through the light to arrive at Fifth Third Ballpark.
