A taste of world music in West Michigan

SAUGATUCK, Mich. (WOOD) Goran Ivanovic has performed at major festivals and in concert halls all over the country and the world! Now he’s in West Michigan for the Saugatuck Center for the Arts’ Summer in the Studio series.

Ivanovic is a native of Croatia. His work is grounded in classical music, enriched by influences of jazz, Balkan, and world music. He has released six albums, appeared at prestigious events such as Chicago World Music Festival, NY Guitar Festival, Wall to Wall Guitar Festival, as well as legendary jazz clubs. Ivanovic has also taught as a guest artist at prestigious universities such as Carnegie Mellon, Princeton, and Cornell.

The Saugatuck Center for the Arts supports year-round arts programs including theater performances, musicals, live music performances, and farmers markets. Ivanovic will perform on Monday, August 4 at 8 p.m. as part of their Summer in the Studio series. Tickets are $15, or you can buy a series pass for all four Summer in the Studio acts for $50.
