GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man beaten and stomped by a group of teenage boys is making some improvement nearly three months later.
Scott Simerson, 24, was beaten on May 23 after confronting a group of teens that had been bothering the children he was watching over as they played at the Sibley Elementary School playground in Grand Rapids, according to police.
Simerson sustained a severe brain injury and was hospitalized in critical condition.
On Thursday, hospital officials confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 that Simerson has been upgraded to fair condition.
Two teens, ages 15 and 16, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
