KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — One man is in custody after police responded to a vague 911 call in Kentwood Thursday morning.

A woman called 911 around 5 a.m. simply saying “send the police now” and gave police the address of 7439 Eastern Avenue, according to Lieutenant Jeff DeVries of the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

A short time later they received another 911 call from the same woman giving the address again and then hung up.

When police arrived at the home, they found the woman inside with an elderly man and his son; although police don’t believe she lived there.

The younger man had a felony warrant for his arrest, and after several hours of negotiation police took him into custody.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Police are still looking to learn what the woman’s relationship is to the suspect and the reason behind the 911 call.
