New festival celebrates blueberries and classic cars


GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) The city of Grandville is jumping on the blueberry bandwagon to celebrate one of Michigan’s best crops! The Grandville Vintage and Blueberry Festival is a brand new event that combines classic cars, antiques, and blueberries!

On Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9, downtown Grandville on Chicago Drive between Wilson and Washington will become the center of events. Shops and restaurants will line the street, selling antiques and food items.

On Friday, there is a vintage car show from 6 to 8 p.m. Live music by Tami & the Tri-Tones is from 6 to 9 p.m.

On Saturday, bring the kids for activities, games, and prizes. There is free bingo on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. – open to all ages! Also check out Tin Can Tourists, a vintage camper show on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.

Most events are free, but a ticket is required for some activities. You can get two tickets for $1, 12 tickets for $5, or 30 tickets for $20.
