Middle school students at GRPS required to wear uniforms

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More students at Grand Rapids Public Schools will be required to wear uniforms this year.

Starting this fall, middle school students at GRPS will have to wear uniforms. This comes a year after the decision to require elementary students to wear uniforms.

As GRPS expands the uniform requirements, Meijer is offering more options for parents.

Two Meijer stores are now selling the school uniforms year round. Parents can find the merchandise at the Meijer locations on 2425 Alpine Avenue NW and 1540 28th Steet SE near Kalamazoo Avenue.

“We have one on the northside of town and then one on the southside of town and both are accessible by public transportation. We felt that was important,” said Crystal Stowe of Meijer.

Next fall, high school students at GRPS will also begin wearing the uniforms.
