MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard helped rescue boaters after a 54-foot craft reportedly hit a large submerged rock near the northeast corner of Mackinac Island.

The Coast Guard says it was called Friday to the area after the operator of the boat named Soulmate notified authorities that it was taking on water.

A rescue boat based in St. Ignace responded. Two other boats were traveling with Soulmate and three children aboard Soulmate were moved to another boat. The Coast Guard helped two adults still aboard Soulmate pump out the water and the boat was towed to Mackinaw City.

No injuries were reported. Names of those involved weren’t released by the Coast Guard.
