Man in critical after assault in Kzoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been hospitalized in critical condition after police found him lying in the street, suffering from a head injury.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were sent to the area of Conant Street and Stuart Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday on a report of a person having been shot.

When officers arrived they discovered the victim, 37-year-old Kalamazoo man, was not shot but rather his injuries appeared to be the result of blunt force trauma by an unknown object.

Police do not have any suspect information at this time.
