Boys, 11 and 14, accused of break-in

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say two boys, ages 11 and 14, are responsible for a Kalamazoo Township break-in.

The break-in happened at a home in the 2600 block of Gull Road, southwest of Nazareth Road, according to the Kalamazoo Township Police Department. P olice say they learned the suspects may be at a home about 2.5 miles away in the 100 block of Herbert Street in Kalamazoo.

At the Herbert Street residence, police discovered stolen property including two cellphones and a tablet, and took the two boys into custody.

Police also recovered a stolen purse and laptop that were found “along the suspect’s path of flight,” a release from police said.

The 11- and 14-year-old were taken to the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home.

The case will be forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
