GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — The man who robbed a Hudsonville credit union while dressed in women’s clothes will spend time in prison.

Todd Kooiker, 51, was sentenced Monday to between 6 and 20 years in prison for armed robbery and fleeing police.

In April, Kooiker entered the Community West Credit Union in Hudsonville dressed in women’s clothing. He showed what was later found to be a BB gun and robbed the bank. He then took off on a motorcycle, leading authorities on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed into a deputy’s cruiser.

He pleaded no contest to the charges against him in early July.

Monday, Kooiker apologized for his actions before he was sentenced.

“During the past four months, God has made significant changes in my life that will affect me for the rest of my life. And I’m sorry, that’s all I can say,” Kooiker said.

Kooiker’s family and employees of the credit union he robbed were present in court Monday.
