MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who recorded women in tanning beds at a Muskegon gym is headed to prison.

Trent Jannenga was sentenced to between 15 months and 5 years in prison for surveilling an unclothed person and between 15 months and 4 years for falsely reporting a felony. Those sentences will be served concurrently.

He received credit for 185 days served.

Police were alerted to the peeping in February when a woman noticed a cellphone in a private tanning booth at a Planet Fitness.

She gave that phone to police. They found its owner, Jannenga, who worked at the health club.

The 25-year-old from Norton Shores did not initially admit to the recordings and said his cellphone had been stolen. After questioning, however, he said he made up the theft and that he had recorded several people tanning.
