2 teens killed, 1 seriously hurt in fiery crash


BELVIDERE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two teenage passengers were killed when the car in which they were riding caught fire after a crash early Monday morning in Montcalm County.

The single-car crash happened around 1 a.m. Monday on Musson Road between Church Road and Deaner Road near Edmore when the car went off the road and hit a tree, according to a Michigan State Police news release. The car started burning and was soon engulfed in flames.montcalm-co-crash-081114

The driver of the vehicle, who according to family is 19-year-old Will Amble of Six Lakes, was able to get out of the vehicle and was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries, the release said.

Two male passengers, 19-year-old Trucker Shattuck of Six Lakes and 17-year-old Tristan Harris of Mount Pleasant, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSP.

State troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.

MSP says it will forward its completed investigation to the Montcalm County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
