14-year-old hit by car, hospitalized

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — A 14-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car that may have been going 40 mph in Wyoming.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on 54th Street east of Clay Avenue, near the Home Depot, according to Wyoming Police.

The teen was running south across the road against a light when he was hit by a westbound Dodge Avenger.

The teen was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The car may have been going as fast as 40 mph at the time of the crash, police said. The vehicle, driven by a 24-year-old man, had the right of way.
