GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) Celebrity chefs – Cat Cora, Carla Hall and Gail Simmons all paid a visit to the Grand Rapids Public Museum last week for the Meijer LPGA Celebrity Chef Cookoff. The cook-off is a friendly competition where community members tried creative cuisine from world renowned chefs.

The fun and interactive cooking event tantalized taste buds while helping to benefit the Meijer Simply Give program, which replenishes the shelves of food pantries throughout the Midwest.

Proceeds from the LPGA Celebrity Chef Cook-off went to benefit the Meijer Simply Give program, which replenishes the shelves of food pantries throughout the Midwest.

The program has generated more than $9 million, thanks Meijer customers, team members and food pantry partners who are committed to helping feed hungry families. The 2014 Spring Simply Give campaign raised $516,000.
