Man arrested after shots fired in Kzoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man arrested Saturday faces a number of charges after officials got a call about shots being fired.

According to officials from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, officers were sent to Hilltop Apartments on South Burdick Street just after midnight.

When officers arrived, they tried to talk to a group in the parking lot. A 20-year-old man then took off running and dropped a loaded gun.

Officers recovered the gun and arrested the man after a short chase. While investigating, they discovered the gun was stolen.

The man is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
