KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — An Emmett Township police officer accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl has been released from jail.

Troy Estree posted bond Saturday, according to an online victim advocacy group. Deputies at the Kalamazoo County Jail say they have no information that he was ever in their facility.

Estree was formally charged Friday with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.

Estree was also ordered not to have contact with the victim or any unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.

He has been placed on paid administrative leave. He is due back in court later this month.
