Man faces 15 years in prison for crash that killed fiancee

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A 24-year-old man could face up to 15 years in prison for the crash that killed his fiancee.

Nicholas Anthony McIntyre was driving on Northland Drive north of M-57 in November when he lost control, drove off the road and rolled his vehicle over, according to police.

McIntyre received minor injuries, but his passenger, 24-year-old Bridget Lynn Brinkmeier, was killed in the crash. He was wearing a seat belt, but she was not, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

He is charged with reckless driving causing death and operating while under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance causing death.
