Gazelle Girl raises money for 4 charities

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This year’s Gazelle Girl Half Marathon and 5K raised more than $40,000 for four West Michigan charities that support women.

According to a Tuesday release from race organizers, $42,632.80 was divided evenly between Kent County Girls on the Run, Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW), YWCA of West Central Michigan and D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s Sisters-in-Support program.

Of that, $40,632.80 was raced through the April 13 race. Another $1,926 was donated by event sponsor Yoga HEAT.

The 2015 Gazelle Girl event is scheduled for April 19. Registration will open Oct. 1.
