Man drives off highway into tree


WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is in serious condition after driving his car off the highway into a tree.

It happened on I-96 near 32nd Avenue between Coopersville and Marne just after 11 p.m. Monday.

Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said 50-year-old Reginald Brown was driving eastbound on I-96 when he drove off the highway and hit a tree.

He was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
