Memorial bike ride for Jeff Dykehouse

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A memorial bike ride will take place Thursday, August 21, to honor a man who was hit and killed while riding his bike in Ada Township in July. Jeff Dykehouse was a father, photographer, and avid biker who was active in raising money for Van Andel Institute’s Purple Community.

Dykehouse’s friends and the community are coming together to remember his legacy with the Jeff Dykehouse Memorial Ride. It’s on August 21 at 6 p.m. at Cannonsburg Ski Area. There will be a ride, food, prizes, and raffles.

Money raised from the event will go toward Emily’s Big Picture Project, an organization Dykehouse started after his daughter Emily passed away. He took photos of terminally ill children so their parents would have long lasting memories of them. Donations from the ride will also go toward a college fund for Dykehouse’s children.

The Jeff Dykehouse Memorial Ride is free to attend, but donations are encouraged.
