Man arrested in Holland stabbing

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing in Holland.

Officers were first called to a report of a fight around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 18th Street and Columbia Avenue. By the time they arrived, everyone had fled the scene.

A short time later police were called to a residence on 19th Street, where they found a 28-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest and head. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police detectives worked leads throughout the night and were able to locate the suspect, a 29-year-old Holland resident, who was taken into custody Wednesday morning and is being held in the Ottawa County Jail.

He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday, after which his identity will be released.
