HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials broke ground Thursday morning on a new hotel in downtown Holland.
The Courtyard by Marriott is set to be built on East 8th Street between the Plaza East office building and the Macatawa Bank branch. It’s a $15.5 million project.
Officials from Suburban Inns — the Holland-based company that will build and operate the hotel — Holland Mayor Kurt Dykstra and Tulip Time Executive Director Gwen Auwerda were on hand for the groundbreaking Thursday.
The five-story, 140-room hotel is expected to open next summer.
