Vandals cause $28K in damage at construction site

ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are trying to track down the person or people responsible for causing thousands of dollars of damage at a construction site in Allendale.

Construction workers from Connan Incorporated, based out of Zeeland, contacted police after they discovered two pieces of excavation equipment and concrete sidewalks were damaged at the West Wind Apartments in the 5300 block of Pierce Street on Monday.

The following day deputies were called again when workers found several sheets of destroyed drywall inside the partially constructed apartments.

The damage is estimated to cost around $28,500.
