GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is holding a Back to School bash on Friday.
The event is geared toward elementary school-aged kids and will include carnival-style games where kids can win school supplies. There will also be face painting, art projects, treats, and giveaways.
Admission is $3 per child.
It’s also an opportunity to help families who cannot afford essential school supplies.
The YMCA will be accepting school supply donations at the event. Donation needs include markers, colored pencils, new backpacks, No. 2 pencils, crayons, ballpoint pens, white glue or glue sticks, child-safety scissors, rulers, highlighters, folders, spiral notebooks, three-ring binders, calculators, and index cards.
Donations can also be dropped off through Friday at the David D. Hunting YMCA located at 475 Lake Michigan Drive in Grand Rapids.
The Back to School event is happening from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the David D. Hunting YMCA’s KidZone.
