1 hurt in car-semi crash in Norton Shores

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — One woman was hurt when she turned her car in front of a semi-truck in Norton Shores Monday, police say.

The crash happened on Sternberg Road west of US-31, according to the Norton Shores Police Department.

According to a preliminary investigation, police say, both a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck were headed east on Sternberg when the woman driving the car tried to make a U-turn. In the process, her car was struck broadside on the driver’s side door by the semi.

She sustained serious injuries, NSPD said.

Police are still investigating.

Part of Sternberg Road was shut down for a time, but has since reopened.
