Giving kids a voice through performing arts

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) There are some exciting things in store this school year at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth. Casey Stratton, Performing Arts Director of the clubs, is getting ready for the third year of the performing arts program.

The program is expanding this year to offer piano and guitar lessons five days a week and singing classes three days a week.

You can help this special program by attending the Be Great Gala. It’s on Saturday, September 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids. Tickets are $100. You can learn more online, by emailing nrodammer@bgcgrandrapids.org, or calling (616) 233-9370.

Casey Stratton has also been busy with the release of his 23rd album, “Lantern Through the Labyrinth.” Each song on the album is inspired by a dream he’s had. Hear him perform “Lantern” in the eightWest studio!
