Pick up a great read at the library

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Summer is a great time to dive into some really good books. A program that’s helping support that is GR Reads, through the Grand Rapids Public Library.

One of the recommendations of the program is by the author of “Eat, Pray, Love,” which became a hit movie. In “The Last American Man,” Elizabeth Gilbert tells the story of a pioneering modern American hero. It’s one of those stories that stays with the reader for a long time after the last page is turned.

Along with the ten titles featured, the Grand Rapids Public Library offers all kinds of free events, author talks, and activities.

You can connect with great reads every week of the year and the Grand Rapids Public Library website is the perfect place to start. There you can link to all kinds of information on books, local history, events and so much more. It’s also a great resource for anyone headed back to school.
