"The Last America Man" by Elizabeth Gilbert

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Summer is a great time to dive into some really good books. A program that’s helping support that is GR Reads, through the Grand Rapids Public Library.

One of the recommendations of the program is by the author of “Eat, Pray, Love,” which became a hit movie. In “The Last American Man,” Elizabeth Gilbert tells the story of a pioneering modern American hero. It’s one of those stories that stays with the reader for a long time after the last page is turned.

Along with the ten titles featured, the Grand Rapids Public Library offers all kinds of free events, author talks, and activities.
