EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State University has canceled a concert featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa, citing an “assessment of campus concerns.”
The Lansing State Journal reports Wednesday that ticket-buyers will be given a full refund for the Sept. 13 show at the Breslin Student Events Center.
In a statement, the East Lansing school says the concert is being called off due to its “review of recent events and assessment of campus concerns.”
The announcement comes less than a week after a man was fatally shot backstage during a concert in California.
Eric Johnson, 38, was killed at the “Under the Influence of Music” concert Wiz Khalifa co-headlined with fellow rapper Young Jeezy at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on Friday.
