PD: 1 shot while walking in GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A 19-year-old pedestrian was shot in Grand Rapids Wednesday night, police say.

The man said he was walking in the 700 block of Prince Avenue SE near Eastern Avenue when he was shot, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

He made his way to a nearby gas station. He was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police say the 19-year-old sustained non-life-threatening wounds to the buttocks and leg. They did not immediately know whether the man was shot twice, or if a single shot caused both wounds.

The 19-year-old said he could not described the shooter to police.

No suspects were in custody Wednesday night.
