2 injured when driver failed to yield

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – Two people are in the hospital after a driver failed to yield the right of way Thursday morning.

The crash happened before 7 a.m. on Butternut Drive near Rose Park Drive in Holland Township.

Yolanda Alvarez-Mandujano, 32 from Holland, was turning onto Butternut from a private drive on the west side of the road when she was hit by a southbound vehicle.

Alvarez-Mandujano failed to yield the right of way and was pinned in her vehicle. She received serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The other driver, Sheila Jacobs, 42, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and is in good condition.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
