GRPD conducts registered sex offender sweep

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Police Department conducted a registered sex offender sweep Friday.

Personnel from the detective unit, special response team and special services unit checked with 35 registered sex offenders who had not appeared for verification, were suspected of being in violation or had been in violation in the past of Michigan’s sex offender registration act, according to a GRPD news release.

There were nine offenders who were not in compliance with the sex offender registration act.

Police are seeking arrest warrants for those nine offenders.
