KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — A former Western Michigan University student has been charged with making threats last year about a campus shooting.
A grand jury returned an indictment Thursday against Timothy Siangdun, accusing the 44-year-old of posting threats on the school’s Facebook site as well as two others in August 2013.
WMU spokeswoman Cheryl Roland tells the Kalamazoo Gazette that Siangdun was an electrical engineering student at the time but no longer is a student. A message seeking comment from him was not immediately returned Friday.
Roland says Siangdun’s alleged threats didn’t lead to a public warning to people on campus because it was determined that he was miles away near Battle Creek.
