The crash happened in a wooded area north of Sayles Road near Johnson Road northeast of Saranac around 12 a.m.

According to officers, the 36-year-old man from Saranac was driving his quad too fast over a steep hill when he went over the edge of a ravine and crashed. Witnesses said the quad hit a large fallen tree branch causing it to go over the edge of the ravine.
