An elegant evening to support music education

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A musical education for children is something that’s very important. Vocal Music Workshop (VMW) works to cultivate that by providing an opportunity for kids to participate in a wide variety of musical experiences in an environment of teaching, learning and performance.

In order to keep its programs affordable, VMW works to raise money. One of its events is an annual gourmet dinner called Whole Notes. This year it will be held on Saturday, September 6. It features a multi-course dinner prepared by the area’s finest chefs and paired with beer and wine. The setting is in a beautiful greenhouse at Koetsier’s Greenhouse in Grand Rapids, and there is live musical entertainment.

Two of the West Michigan businesses donating their time for this event are Osteria Rossa and National Wine and Spirits.

Whole Notes is at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Koetsier’s on Spaulding Drive in Grand Rapids. Tickets are $95 per person. You can buy them online or send a check to VMW, P.O. Box 68608, Grand Rapids, MI 49516. For more information, visit the Vocal Music Workshop website or email
