Be part of a chic pop-up picnic

An all-white pop-up picnic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) When you want to go out for a nice dinner, you often plan in advance. But throw all that out the door! Pop-up dinners are all the rage. On Friday, the Junior League of Grand Rapids is holding one and you’re invited! That means you learn where you’re eating only three hours in advance!

Grand Night in White is a pop-up chic picnic. These picnics have happened all over the world, from Paris to San Francisco. The concept was invented more than 25 years ago by a Frenchman. The Junior League of Grand Rapids decided it was time to bring them to Grand Rapids as a fundraiser for the programs it supports in the community, focused on benefitting women and children.

Grand Night in White is an elegant event. Attendees don’t know where it’s held until three hours before the event. The only clue for Friday’s event is: spectacular views! Picnics aren’t even allowed at the location without coming to Grand Night in White. Attendees all wear white, which adds to the ambiance of the event.

Guests bring their own picnic dinner and table décor. DJ music and a cash bar will be available on site.

Grand Night in White is Friday, September 5 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person. You can buy them online.
