WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) –- A road construction project scheduled to start next week on Alpine Avenue in Walker could cause some traffic delays.

Crews are scheduled to begin resurfacing the busy road, which is also known as M-37, on Monday between Alpenhorn Drive to the north and south of 3 Mile Road to the south, according to The Michigan Department of Transportation.

During the project, crews are expected to install a new guardrail and a sidewalk ramp, according to an MDOT release.

At least one northbound and one southbound lane of Alpine Avenue will remain open throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to wrap up on Oct. 24.
