Hispanic Festival takes over downtown Grand Rapids

The Hispanic Festival in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Calder Plaza will be packed this weekend as the 37th annual Hispanic Festival gets under way. The festival will have fantastic food, live entertainment, a 3v3 Futsal Tournament, and kids activities.

Something new at the festival this year is the Mercado, showcasing the work of upcoming local artists in the Hispanic community. The Hispanic Center of West Michigan is helping coordinate the festival, and money raised will go to support its programs.

A big part of the festival is the amazing music. One of the performers scheduled to take the state is Bersachi. The true Latin superstar performed at the Latin Street Grammies and the Spanish Teen Awards, and has opened for Enrique Iglesias and Daddy Yankee. Bersachi will perform on Calder Plaza at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Hispanic Festival is Friday, September 5 until 11:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Calder Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids. It is free and open to the public!
