ALMENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — State police say they arrested three people who broke into a Van Buren County home Saturday.

The burglary happened around 4:50 p.m. at a residence in Almena Township, northeast of Paw Paw, according to the Michigan State Police.

Dispatchers told Michigan State Police that a homeowner had interrupted the break-in and scared the burglars off. They were said to be driving a beige Dodge Caravan.

A trooper was headed to the house that had been broken into when he spotted the minivan headed north on M-40, north of Paw Paw and performed a traffic stop. Stolen property was found in the van, MSP says.

Two suspects were taken to the Van Buren County Jail on charges of breaking and entering, MSP says. A third suspect, a juvenile, is expected to face charges in juvenile court.

The suspects’ names are being withheld pending arraignment, which is expected to happen Monday.
