Motorcyclist and passenger, 10, hurt in crash

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized Sunday morning after a pickup truck and motorcycle collided in Walker.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. on Wilson Avenue NW near W. Grand Boulevard. The Walker Police Department says the motorcycle crashed into the back of the pickup after the truck stopped to make a turn.

The driver of the motorcycle and his 10-year-old passenger were both hurt and were taken to a Grand Rapids hospital. Both sustained serious injuries, but both are expected to survive.

Police say the motorcyclist identified himself as the passenger’s grandfather.

Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Wilson was closed for longer than an hour while police investigated.
