Woman recovering after hit and run

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies are looking for a driver who they said struck a pedestrian and took off Saturday night.

The crash happened just after 9:45 p.m. on Pierce Street near 48th Street in Georgetown Township.

Officers said 22-year-old Brooke Tomcsik of Crystal was walking alone on the shoulder of Pierce Street when she was struck by a vehicle from behind. The car did not stop after hitting her, according to officials.

Tomcsik suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The vehicle was described as dark in color with round tail lights.

The crash remains under investigation.
