GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) After 130 years of bringing world-renowned musicians to West Michigan, St. Cecilia Music Center is doing it again. On Thursday, September 18, 20-time Grammy award winning jazz artist Chick Corea and the Vigil will take the stage.

Chick Corea is the one of the most nominated artist ever, with 61 Grammy nominations. The Great Artist Gala is a rare opportunity to see him in the intimate setting at St. Cecilia. The concert is their signature event, and is their biggest fundraiser of the year. There are three ticket levels:

Sponsor ticket – $250

  • An elegant four-course dinner with wine pairings from Martha’s Vineyard
  • Premier concert seating
  • Post-concert reception
  • $100 tax deductible donation to SCMC

Benefactor ticket – $125

  • B section seating
  • Post-concert reception

Concert-only ticket – $90

  • C section seating

St. Cecilia  is also gearing up for ArtPrize. They are hosting 86 musical entries, as well as visual art in their gallery. St. Cecilia gives away its own prize money, with $2,000 awarded in five different genres of music, based on the popular vote. St. Cecilia is also expanding their busking locations this year. There will be nine locations with expanded hours, where people can hear musicians performing in various locations around downtown Grand Rapids.
