TEXAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his roommate and threatening to shoot him.

Deputies were called to the home in the 6000 block of Briarcliff Path around 1 a.m. Thursday on a report that a man had been physically assaulted by his roommate.

The victim told authorities the suspect, a convicted felon, had fired a gun earlier that night, and then pointed the gun at the victim threatening to shoot him. He also said the suspect had been drinking that afternoon and evening.

Deputies attempted to contact the suspect inside the home several times. After several unsuccessful attempts, they saw him walking into the kitchen area and were able to take him into custody.

Authorities located used rounds of ammunition inside the home, as well as firearms and unused rounds of ammo on the suspect.

The suspect was arrested and is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple charges.
