Convicted killer sentenced in violent robbery

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A convicted killer who was caught on camera committing a violent robbery in Grand Rapids was sentenced to 40 years in jail.

Paul Edward White pleaded guilty to two counts of armed robbery and one count of bribing or intimidating a witness after he was caught on video robbing a party store on April 28.

He received a two 30 consecutive years sentence for the armed robberies and 10 years for witness tampering.

White fainted in court following his sentencing but was not hurt, according to a court clerk.

Before serving his sentence, White must finish his parole sentence which is still undetermined.

White was released from prison in September 2013 after spending 15 years behind bars for killing a man in Detroit in 1996.
